Compositions

First Beat

Picture
This was my first beat I created on Soundtrap. I selected suggestions from the Soundtrap sounds and compiled them together to create a basic beat with other instruments.

I learnt how to select and drag sounds to create a basic beat. I also learnt how to navigate their volume settings and fade in and out tracks. I also learnt how to alter the panorama, bass and treble of each track.

Thirty second podcast

Picture
I created a Thirty second podcast where I had to tell listeners my name and my favorite song and play a short sample of it.

I learnt how to create a podcast on Soundtrap and upload an mp3 file as a track and make edits to it. I also learnt how to transcript my voice and crop out dead noise.

Drum Beat

Picture
I created a drum beat, which had all the elements such as the kick, snare and hi-hat. This was the first time I didn't use a pre-selected beat from Soundtrap.

I learnt how to create your own track on Soundtrap and edit your beat to include the kick, snare and hi-hat and other drum elements

Modal Beat

Picture
I created Modal beats, where I added an original beat and also chords from a chosen instrument. This was the first time I created my own track apart from a beat, and included a mode.

I learnt how to add a custom instrument and edit the notes and change the duration and pitch. Most of all, I learnt how to attach a mode to my song.

Four Measure Changes

Picture
For Four Measure Changes, I created a song that included both suggested sounds from Soundtrap as well as my own. I created the beat (kick and snare, hi-hat) and a synthesizer track called 'Atlantic Pad'.

I learnt how to split and merge regions of tracks and create blocks and remove them to make each part of the song sound unique and different.

Rushing Back Remix

This was the last project we had, and we had to remix a song called Rushing Back. I began with only the acapella, and added tracks from Soundtrap, SoundBible, and my own as well.

I learnt how to go about creating the bridge of the song, and adding tracks so that each verse sounded different. I utilized what I learnt in Four Measure Changes, creating blocks and removing them to make each verse unique. Finally, I learnt how to create a drop leading into the final verse of the song.
